Q1: When I login the server via Internet, the video cells just show “connecting”. However, it is normal when I login by LAN. What can I do?

Due to the bandwidth limitation, please reduce the video size of the camera to save the bandwidth.

If the camera has dual stream feature, you can set smaller video size for monitoring and bigger size for recording.

Q2: How can I login to remote server of ST7501 on Internet?

You need to set the server over Internet first. You can follow the steps as below to do it:

  1. Step1: You need to forward the two port numbers 554 and 3454 on your router.
  2. Step2: Type <WAN IP of the router> and the port number “3454”in the login panel of LiveClient to login the server of ST7501.

That port number 3454 is the default port number of ST7501.

If you changed the default port number of ST7501 during installation process, please forward the port that you set on your router. Besides, just remind you that you need to type the WAN IP to connect to the server. You should find out the WAN IP on the settings page of your router.

Q3: I try to add my camera and click on “Connection Test”, I get the following error: “The request is failed. (Error Code: 80460008)” and I don't see anything. Why?

The error code "80460008" means the ST7501 can't get the streaming.

  • There are 2 possibilities:
    • If you set up ST7501 server on Internet: Please forward the two port numbers 554 and 3454 on your router. You can refer to the FAQ “ Q2: How can I login to remote server of ST7501 on Internet?” to do it.
    • If you set up ST7501 server on LAN: Because when the server and client are installed on two individual computers, they transmit the data with 3454 port and transmit the streaming with 554 port. Thus, if the ST7501 server and client are installed on two individual computers, please check the port number 554 is not occupied by other services.

Q4: During the installation it showed an error "The account ....doesn't exist". Although it finishes this installation, I cannot run ST7501. What can I do?

When you get the message like the picture as below during the installing the software, please make sure that you are using Administrator of your OS to install ST7501.

Q5: When I try to start the ST7501 Uranus Watch-Dog server, I get an error “Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion.” Why?

  • It might be able to solve the problem by method as below:
    1. Open DOS command window. Type "NET USER ST7501PGSQL ST7501PGSQL /add".
    2. And then click "Enter" button.

If you get the result like the picture as below, please uninstall the ST7501 on your computer. And then you need to install the PostgresSQL by yourself. You can download it. Finally, please install the ST7501 again. When the dialogue box “Have you ever installed PostareSQL in your computer?” pop up, please click “Yes”. (If you get another result, please contact us for help and attach the screenshot for us to understand the problem.)

Q6: Which cameras are compatible with ST7501?

Q7: When I run ST7501, there are lots temp files appearing in the temp folder. How to solve it?

  • Solution 1: Refer to attached picture.
  • Solution 2: Some anti-virus treats the video streaming of ST7501 and of IE like suspect virus; therefore, they store the temp files for recovery or something for security purpose. If you turn off the anti-virus software completely and then the problem is solved, please find out the rule of your anti-virus software to let video streaming go without suspicion.

Q8: Why do I get "Authentication failed" message? I did not change the passward of ST7501 server.

Please make sure that the version of LiveClient is same with the version of ST7501 server.

Q9: How do I get more than 10 connections from ONE camera by using ST7501 streaming server?
