The EZConnect app will change its service name to VIVOCloud in version v2.1.x by the end of May, 2017. The transition will not affect the existing service. It is advised to update related products (app, NVR) to the latest version.


EZConnect makes mobile surveillance much easier and smarter than ever. Simply register user’s account and connect corresponding devices, users can view live streams and play recorded clips anytime, anywhere. Enhanced functionalities with the latest version, including Push Notification, this function will directly popup an alert message on users’ mobile device when specific events happen such as motion detection, theft behavior and so on. Moreover, users can share the video stream with up to 4 people to view the surveillance video simultaneously, making it deal to provide real-time security for retails and SMB.

In consideration of efficient operation, EZConnect provides easy video bridging and tunneling with VIVOTEK NVRs. Powered by AWS hosted server, EZConnect can make secure and robust connections between users and their properties through the Internet. For easy connection, users will not need to configure IP port forwarding on router, or set up a DDNS address for NVRs. Even if they do not know the user’s device IP address, they can simply just search for the device or scan the NVR’s QR code to make a direct connection between the users’ handheld device and NVRs.

Multiple Layout

With 1x2, 2x3 and 3x4 layout, users can pick the best fitting layout based on various situations or preferences. Simply tap the bottom-left layout icon to change for the most suitable layout.

Timeline Playback

Provides users intuitive timeline playback experience. Drag on the timeline directly to choose playback time. Data indicator on timeline can show whether there are recording data or not at certain times. Users can also play recorded clips in different speeds and download snapshots for key images.

Fisheye Dewarp of VIVOTEK cameras can also be done in the mobile app. Users can choose 1O, 1P, 1R mode of fisheye cameras and use ePTZ to view streams from different angles.

EZConnect – Quick Installation Guide

  • Step 1

    Click on the EZConnect button on the wizard. This is the Initial Configuration wizard for VIVOTEK's NVR. The same configuration page can also be found in Settings > System > EZConnect Service.

    The NVR will then connect to the bridging server. This should take about 1 minute.

    The QR code will appear after the NVR and bridging server are connected. Keep this page open for the next step.

    Open the EZConnect app. If you have EZConnect account, simply enter your account and password to LOG IN, if you don’t have an account yet, tap SIGN UP to create a new EZConnect account.

    Tap the Menu button on the upper left to expand the side menu and select ADD DEVICES to proceed.

    Tap the ADD DEVICES MANUALLY button.

    Select SCAN QR CODES to launch your cell phone camera. Point the camera to QR code you kept in Step 2.

    Wait for a few seconds for connection, then tap GO TO LIVEVIEW to check the device stream or tap ADD MORE if you would like to add more devices.

  • Limitations and Considerations

    1. Each NVR can be bound to only one EZConnect account.
    2. Each account can access the EZConnect service from 3 different devices at the same time.
    3. NVR will unbind to EZConnect in the following situations: EZConnect service disabled from NVR, NVR reset to default, NVR removed from your app device list.
    4. You can view the NVR’s stream for up to 3 hours in general connection. However, if there are multiple router layers or a firewall between your NVR and your hand-held device, your session will be limited to 3 minutes when the video stream is transferred by relay mode. No need to worry, you can reconnect if you would like to view longer.
    5. To ensure your account safety, it will be locked down for 30 minutes after 5 incorrect password attempts.
    6. By default, EZConnect app will establish connection with your NVR via stream 3 or other low resolution stream. You can select higher resolutions if you prefer.
    7. In the multiple-view page, streaming bandwidth will be automatically limited to 256kbps.
    8. When in relay mode, the above limitation will also apply to playback connection.
