Background

Vittoria Residence is an apartment complex located in the heart of West Jakarta, Indonesia and is built on 1.2 hectares of land with 35% of the construction dedicated for green areas. It has a resort concept that combines nature and community into balanced harmony. Vittoria Residence has convenient facilities that include a fitness center, swimming pool, spa, coffee shop, lobby lounge, and parking area. The location is very convenient with quick access to public transportation (both bus and train stations), a hospital, food court, and local mini mart. It is the first apartment complex to utilize the concept of property development, and is directly integrated with public transportation.

Challenge

Vittoria Residence has corridors with dim lighting conditions, so use aesthetically pleasing wall lamps to add a warm tone. Since there is not enough lighting with regards to surveillance, a camera with good night visibility made for the best choice. Also, the indoor parking area has many pillars which have created many blind spots for standard surveillance cameras.

Solution

A total of 291 VIVOTEK cameras, 9 network video recorders, and 14 PoE switches were installed for the security system of Vittoria Residence. A total of 246 VIVOTEK FD8369A-V fixed dome network cameras were placed in the main lobby corridors and fitness center, and another 31 IB8369A cameras were placed in the swimming pool area and indoor parking area. Another 14 CC8371-HV cameras were installed in the parking area. All the cameras feed into the 9 ND9541 NVRs in the control room. All 14 PoE switches used to provide power to the cameras and transmit video data are model AW-GET-260A-380. The VIVOTEK FD8369A-V is a compact mini dome designed for outdoor surveillance applications. It’s a 2-megapixel network camera with supreme night visibility, built-in IR Illuminators effective up to 30 meters with smart IR technology to avoid overexposure. The VIVOTEK IB8369A is an outdoor bullet camera with IR illuminators, a weather-proof IP66, vandal-proof IK10-rated housing, and 2-megapixel resolution.

The VIVOTEK CC8371-HV is a unique 180° panoramic camera, able to get around the blind spots created by the pillars in the parking area. Unlike multiple sensor cameras that stitch together a 180° panoramic image, the CC8371-HV uses a single fisheye lens which allows it to stay compact and less obtrusive. It also features WDR Pro for high contrast lighting situations and a IP66, IK10 rated housing for added protection. The VIVOTEK ND9541 NVR is a network video recorder with VAST 2 VMS built in to centrally manage multiple sites, and provide real-time monitoring and video playback. This NVR comes equipped with cybersecurity attack prevention, attacks and events from cameras will be notified to VAST 2 alarm management. The security staff were able to manage all cameras from the whole apartment with a one-stop smart solution. Featuring Smart Search II, the ND9541 NVR enables users to more quickly search for specific objects or people when a security event arises. It also supports Smart VCA enabled VIVOTEK cameras, providing the ability to add AI algorithms for even faster event triggers and searches. All this combined provided a highly convenient solution for building management.

Result

Soon after the surveillance system was installed, Vittoria Residence experienced some theft events. With Smart Search II, the security staffs were able to quickly search and analyze the recordings, and find video evidence easily. They added that the panoramic 180° CC8371-HV with it’s super wide coverage helped significantly reduce the number of cameras needed, therefore helping them save installation costs and keeping them within budget. Vittoria Residence selected both FD8369A-V and IB8369A for their supreme night visibility, helping them record in low light areas. In the end, the outcome not only met but surpassed all expectations and goals.
