Background

Located on the grant avenue Presidente Masaryk in Mexico City, Peyrelongue Chronos has consolidated its reputation as a luxury and private space for seekers of the highest quality in jewels. Peyrelongue Chronos was founded in 1969 by Hervé Peyrelongue, who envisioned a luxury boutique offering exclusive jewelry with an innovative design. Later in 1992, Peyrelongue Chronos became the first business to specialize in high-end Swiss jewelry in Mexico, proudly displaying 40 world-class jewelry brands. Within its spacious and comfortable stores, customers can enjoy a wide selection of jewelry styles from 40 world-class jewelry brands and experience customized service and craft-workshop authorized by the most famous jewels manufacturers for customer-tailored design.

Challenge

Customers and valuable Peyrelongue Chronos merchandise demand rigorous security for both outside and inside the boutique. Therefore, one of the main challenges in this project was finding precise security cameras to monitor every counter without any blind spots, as well as capturing incidents and preventing robbery. It was also necessary to monitor each space of the store remotely in real-time and receive the alarms of any extraordinary events.

Solution

Recently, Peyrelongue Chronos has remodeled its facilities, which included the video surveillance system. In search of the best solutions to meet the needs, Peyrelongue Chronos found all requirements in different VIVOTEK cameras, including MS8391-EV, FD9360-H, MS9390-HV, FE9181-H, FE9191, IT9389-H, FD9189-H, and FD8166A-N. The 180 degrees multi-sensor MS8391-EV was mounted on the facade of the shop to maximize the field of view and reduce the number of cameras required, thus cutting down installation costs. The MS8391-EV provides 12MP high-quality images day and night with the Smart IR technology, which avoids over-exposure, reduces noise to instantly adjust IR illumination according to the changes in natural light. It is also ideal for the outdoor because of the robust housing that can resist rain, dust and protect it from vandalism or tampering. To complement this solution, two FD9360-H were added on each side to monitor the avenue in both directions. The FD9360-H deploys a 2.8mm/3.6mm lens and is equipped with IR illuminators with a 30-meter effective range for better night visibility in harsh outdoor environments.

Inside Peyrelongue Chronos store, two MS9390-HV, the most efficient panoramic network camera, were installed in the jewelry area to surveil all displays and all movements accurately within. With its unique dual-sensor design, the MS9390-HV offers a 180-degree field of view up to 20 meters and is capable of maintaining a higher FOV than traditional multi-sensor panoramic cameras using four sensors. This model also utilizes H.265 compression and Smart Stream III technology, which enable the store to save on bandwidth and storage consumption.

Two fisheye cameras were chosen for the luxury watch area of Peyrelongue Chronos to monitor the several showcases in the space. One of them was the 5MP FE9181-H camera, which delivers superb image clarity. Its 360-degree surround-view provides blind spot-free imaging of wide areas and is equipped with an IR filter and WDR Pro technology, allowing unmatched visibility in high-contrast lighting environments. Another one is the FE9191, it was mounted on the side to straighten the security of the watch area. It features 12MP resolution and high-speed panoramic PTZ for detailed regional view monitoring. The FE9191 also includes advanced Video Content Analyses - Smart 360 VCA, including intrusion detection, crowd detection, and loitering detection.

Finally, the IT9389-H camera was chosen for the shared areas in Peyrelongue Chronos, such as aisles and entrances/exits, as it captures high-quality images both in low light and high-contrast light environments. The 5MP and 2MP dome cameras, FD9189-HM and FD8166A-N, respectively, were also installed. The FD9189-HM is equipped with 30 meters range IR illuminators for enhanced night vision, and the FD8166A-N is able to see up to 6 meters in total darkness, a safe bet to meet all the surveillance requirements in transit zones within this renowned boutique.
